An inspiring digital art adventure for kids

In 2022, Wieni collaborated with Wat is kunst to launch watiskunst.be, a playful and educational platform designed for children. The result: a vibrant, interactive space that brings art to life through games, videos, and creative challenges.

Who is Wat is kunst

“Wat is kunst” (What Is Art) invites children to discover, question, and enjoy art through the eyes of Leonard, a curious host, and JOS, his enthusiastic virtual assistant. Together, they spark wonder, creativity, and learning through short comedic vlogs and hands‑on activities.

How did Wieni help?

The primary challenge was turning engaging art education into an online experience that resonates with young kids, full of delight, discovery, and play. Wieni delivered a solution that balances fun, usability, and learning impact:

Wieni contributed by:

  • Designing bright, intuitive visuals aimed at kids 8–12 year‑olds

  • Developing interactive games that reinforce art concepts

  • Building a DIY video section to encourage creativity at home

  • Integrating a gallery where children can explore, comment, and share

  • Creating a secure, easy-to-use CMS for managing vlogs and content updates

  • Ensuring responsive support across all devices: tablets, phones, laptops

Five highlights

  1. Playful vlog series
Comedic vlogs starring Leonard and JOS make art approachable—kids learn through jokes, questions, and storytelling.

  2. Interactive art gallery
Children explore artworks and share their reactions, creating a sense of community and visual learning.

  3. Creative do-it-yourself videos
DIY guides (think: make-your-own mask, paint techniques) invite kids to experiment and follow along at home.

  4. Art-themed games
Quiz-style and puzzle games reinforce art concepts while making learning fun and rewarding.

  5. Child‑friendly backend
A lightweight CMS allows content editors to upload new vlogs, games, and DIY workshops quickly, keeping the site fresh and engaging.

Today, watiskunst.be empowers children to playfully explore art, express creativity, and feel confident in their curiosity. Wieni’s ongoing support means the platform stays lively, with regular updates and seasonal content.
