How much coffee?
Don’t be wasteful, ask in advance who wants a cup of coffee and brew accordingly. To determine how much you need and which brewing method you should use, consult the table below:
* These amounts are for a regular cup of coffee (250ml), the cups at the Leuven office are really small so you can halve the amount of coffee you make or drink two cups per person.
How to brew?
Moccamaster
Fold the filter and place it in the filter basket. You can find the filters in the cabinet under the coffee machine at the office in Antwerp.
Weigh out your beans. You can find a coffee scale in the cabinet under the coffee machine at the office in Antwerp, or next to the coffee machine in Leuven.
Grind your beans. Make sure the grinder is somewhere between setting 7 and 6. Start grinding by holding the switch at the bottom of the grinder, right under the glass container. Make sure the silicone cap is firmly attached to the container.
Put the coffee grounds in the filter basket and level them out by gently tapping or swirling the filter basket.
Place the filter basket back in the Moccamaster and place the lid back on.
Fill the water reservoir with the corresponding amount of water (see table above). Please use a clean carafe when filling the reservoir. Do not use the (dirty) coffee pot to prevent buildup in the machine.
Set the half/full pot switch to the correct position. Use the full pot setting for pots from 500ml upwards.
Turn on the machine and wait until the brewing is done.
Turn off the machine.
